Shipturtle’s Split Order feature gives merchants the flexibility to divide a single order into multiple sub-orders based on their own logic or operational needs.this,feature allows the admin to manually split an order into as many parts as needed—for example, to separate in-stock items from backorders, to prioritize faster shipping, or to allocate inventory from different locations. Each split order is treated independently for fulfillment and tracking, while still being linked to the original parent order for clear visibility and reporting.

Split Order Flow in Shipturtle
Access the Order Management Section
- Log in to the Shipturtle admin panel.
- Navigate to the Order Management section where all customer orders are listed.
Select the Order to Split
- Locate the order you wish to split and click to open its details page.
Check Eligibility for Splitting ⚠️
Important Conditions Before Splitting:
- The order must not have a shipping label generated.
- The order must not have an invoice generated.
- If either a label or invoice has already been generated, the split action will be disabled, and a warning will be displayed.
Initiate the Split Order Action
- If the order is eligible, click the “Split Order” button to begin the process.
Define Sub-Order Details
- Assign products into different groups/sub-orders.
- Specify shipping methods or warehouse preferences if needed.
- Add notes or special instructions per sub-order.
Review the Split Setup
- Verify the distribution of items across sub-orders.
- Ensure shipping and product details are correctly assigned.
Confirm and Split the Order
- Click “Confirm Split” to generate the new sub-orders.
- Shipturtle will create separate sub-orders and link them to the parent order.

Generate Invoices and Labels (After Splitting)
- Once the split is complete, you can generate invoices and shipping labels separately for each sub-order.
Fulfill Sub-Orders Independently
- Process, ship, and track each sub-order on its own.
- Update customers with fulfillment and tracking details per sub-order.
Track Overall Order Progress
- The parent order view reflects the status of all linked sub-orders.
- Completion of all sub-orders marks the overall order as fulfilled.
